Chapter 1: What Is Science?
Chapter 1 deals with how scientists practice science to explore and investigate their world around them. Students will learn how to apply scientific terminology, S. I. measurements, the collection of data, mathematical concepts, and graphing skills to the classroom and their everyday lives. By the end of this chapter the students should be familiar with scientific experimentation techniques and should be able to design, perform, and analyze science experiments.
Chapter 2: The World of Science
In Chapter 2 the students will learn about the ever changing world of science. The study of science has a long history of controversy as new scientific theories and laws emerge that challenge prior beliefs. These new ideas are often best explained using tools called models which can be webs, maps, computer programs, and many other things.
